So I just got off the phone with GoodTimes Cycles owner Jb Chillin' and he just informed me that his partner in crime,of almost 14 years,Peanut has passed away. She was a Real major part of his life for all those years and he is pretty broke up about it. I can only sympathize with him.She was a Awesome buddy,friend,companion and loyalist to JB and She will be missed.

B.O.S/S Thumbs it's Nose at Old Man Winter

So Big J,LGB and myself had a Great and Cold ride today. Got to ride my new wheel set. Man they are the Shiznit. John Brown at High Road Cyclery in Wayne/Philly,Pa can Really build a wheel. Cold and Snowy was the forecast for the day. 22 to start 23 at the finish. 14 miles of sweet snow covered single track was on tap. Only saw 2 tracks out on Ben's trail. All the way over to Mrazek(I have spelled this wrong before)and back through Shevlin Park. Awesome day in Bend again,despite the cold snow. That is why we live in Paradise...

My Brown Santa

Well they finally arrived from the Brown Santa. My New 29'er wheel set that my Po Boy John Brown built up for me back in Philly. Man are they SWEET. Pink King's with Polished Salsa Disc Race rims, Black Dt Swiss spokes and Blue alloy nipples. They are so lite. Can't wait to give them the once over on the trails here in Bend. I know it's snowing and a little rainy,but I have to ride these beauties. Big J,LGB and I will take them out on Saturday for a little spin-o-rama.

BBBUUURRRR

Wow, it is cold in Bend right now. Old Man winter has struck with a Heavy fist. No snow in town,but the mountain has enough snow for my Big bro to hit the slopes for a few turns. Went for a ride yesterday with Big J and my Bro.BBBUUURR it was fuckin' cold. Well, if I had one more layer it would have been OK. It takes so much longer for my Engin to warm up when its that cold.We still got 17 good miles in. Went to the Black Friday sale at Pearl Izumi. Picked up about $800 of layers for Brett and my self for about $275. What a savings. All the gear/clothes worked great. Thanks to LGB for the heads up on the gear. Having the right gear for riding is always important.Having someone cry on a great ride because of the wrong gear sucks. Wow just heard from Pinkus that one of her friends passed away from a heart attack.Big time cyclist,rode in the RAAM and bing- lights out! My thoughts go out to his wife and kids. Just sucks that another one bites the dust.

Viva Las Vegas

So I went Las Vegas for my Birthday and had one of the most enjoyable 10 day vacations ever.First, I have to thank all the people that made this birthday that much more memorable than all the rest.Except for the first one of course(thanks Mom).Well Mom was as big a part of this one as she was in the making of the first one.She traveled the entire trip via the inter-webs and a ton of phone calls.Next, my big Bro Brett for not only picking me up and dropping me off, but just allowing me the opportunity to go on the trip.Next would be Germy and Adam.If it weren't for Germy and Adam I would have not had such great company and riding partners in Flagstaff and Sedona,Az.Next would have to be Carey,LGB's older sister.She came up to Sedona and kept me company for a couple of hours.She also showed me around Slide Rock state park in Sedona.Next the gang at High Mesa Bikes in Gallup,Nm.They were super friendly and helpful about the trails in the area.Next would be Big Al from Big Al's Cyclery in Durango,Co.She was grinding up the Colorado trail in Durango and let me bust out the Best ride of the whole trip.Pinkus is next.She lives in Vail and is a long time friend of Matty and myself.Morgan,the man who built the Gooseberry Mesa trail,for giving me the personally guided tour of his wonderful back yard- Zion Nat. Park.Last would again have to be Carey.She flew up to Vegas for my last night of vacation.She had never been to Vegas and just had to come.We went to the Stratosphere and road the spinning throw-up ride.Over 1000 feet above the sandy grit of Vegas.Well, now that I am back at home, I can not wait to make my next trip the South West.Next time Big J and my Bro will have to make the trip with me.

Bend's Dirty little Secret

So the trails here in Bend could not have been any better yesterday.We started our ride at 10:45 and finished three and a half hours later.WOW it was just what we all needed.I leave for my Birthday trip to the 4 corners plus some on Thursday and really needed a good ride to kick it off before I box up the Engin.It was a little chilly start but warmed up nicely.Big J was ridin' awesome as usual.Brett my bro went out hard and faded fast,but it didn't matter.He finished the 29 mile loop.Just a year ago he could not do 10.Way to rock the shite outa that ole Trek 8500LT.So if y'all want to ride in Bend come in the Fall October or early November.Trails are rocking right now.Cold at night so the moisture leaks out as it warms up.Lighting through the trees is almost as good as it gets.Go early to beat the Shoe-Bees on there brand new R.E.I. bikes with toe clips and strap's 3 miles from the car ,in their winter parka's,over heating on the side of the Phil's trail pondering "Why the hell did I marry you.You trying to kill me?".Good to see them out there exercising though.Pics from Big J are coming as soon as he gets the interwebs back up at his "Big J's Compound".

Giddy Up 40

So here comes 40.Fuck that half full half empty shit.I am turning FORTY!So I planned a trip for my Big Four OHH.It should be a big one.Fly into Las Vegas then drive to Flagstaff and Sedona.Then its off to Gallup,Nm and up to Durango,Co(no snow no snow).After that its Fruita and Grand Junction.Off to Moab after that.Las Vegas is the final stop for one more night of sin and fun.I hope the Meese's can swing out to LV to meet up for a ride hint hint.So as for turning 40,Bring It Age.I am in the best shape of my life and only getting Better.It just sucks a little,Single at 40.

Chief Paulina

So around here there is an Indian Chief named "Chief Paulina" and he is a legend for killing a bunch of settlers ya scalping and all that shite.Well he also has a couple lakes and a peak named after him with a great ride around the Twin lakes.Our ride started at 6331' and in a 3 mile climb,we gained about 1200 ft.Very tough with 34x18 29er.But Germy I made it happen.Beautiful day about 55-60 degrees and windy.Chilly in the shade and warm in the sun.You hover around the 7300' mark almost the whole ride.New bike is almost flawless aside from a little rotor rub.Very little snow about ten snow crossings.Congrats to Patty B. of Web on a stellar win in Portland at the Cross Crusades.WHOOP WHOOP.

Injury Report

So I am Ok but my buddie had a wicked good crash the other day.Over the bars and WACK out come his spleen.WTF I had no idea that that could happen but two hours after the crash he is in surgery having his spleen taken out!His is doing ok Morphine is an awesome drug...The trails here in CO are in fine fine shape.A little rain last night and its kickin at the Chickin.I just got back from SoCal where the weather is hot and the Girlies are Hotter.Went to Joshua Tree and did a little climbing with a good friend Mike.Man can that fucker climb.Pics to come later.More on the ridin in Bend later.Have A Great Day Kiddos....

Well my new Engin has arrived and been built.All I can say is WOW!That bike Rocks.It has XTR Hydro levers with 4piston XT calipers(DYNAMITE),Mary bar,hand made custom stem 100mm Pink 31.8,WCS headset 98grams,Boone Ti ENO Ring 34t,ENO Freewheel 18t,ENO cranks,Crank Bro pedals SL,WTB Nano Raptor tyres,Salsa 27.2 silver post,Paul's/Salsa DelGado 36h wheel set(borrowed from Jefe' thanks Bro)Specialized 130mm Ti rail saddle and a Surly 1x1 fork(don't have the White Rock Solid fork yet).Drew you have made a better rider of me and for that I Thank You!This bike handles like a little BMX bike.Super fast.Great sharp steering.Light as a feather climbing.In 1 week I have put over a hundred miles of single track on the new steed and I am so happy.Have not put a weight to it yet but I think it is about 20lbs.With the White fork and King wheel set It should be about 19lbs easy.I must say that Bend has the best single track in the NW.Dutchman's to Metolius/Windigo to Happy Valley to Marazek to Shevlin park to home.28 miles of the Best of the Best that we have.Pics to come later....

Outa' Shape

Hey WebLand,
WOW I am out of shape for ridin'.LGB,Cracker,Sweater,Germy and my self had a Really wet ride in the Ochcos on Sunday.The ride was awesome ,but it just proved that I am getting old.These kids and I use the term loosely,all of which I could beat up on a few years ago,KICKED my ass.I only whimpered a little,OK OK a lot.But it was raining side ways and I had 2 flats.Just excuses I know.The weather has just turned into Autumn here in the Bend area and should stay nice for a few weeks now.I hope to get some ridding in the next couple of weeks here as I am not traveling for 4 weeks.This new job is killing me but it does pay pretty well.So if any one needs some help in Bend,on there bikes,just send an email to this address and I will help you out as much as I can.Plus If any one needs some info on S/S stuff I will gladly help you out as well.Thats about it for now,Jason and I are going for a ride and I hope he does not kill me.Can't wait for My NEW Engin Cycles to arive.I am droooooooling.

Long time listener, first time caller....

WOW This shit is fun.First Time Long Time.My "GoodTimes Cycles" friend JB Chillin and I are just down here in Ashland,Or discussing my new Xross SS frame along with my new Blogsite and boy is it hard and fun(not in a GAY way).Sure did a recharge in the friend department after this week in Ohio.It SUCKS there,But I am back and just about full on the charge level.LGB(little gay brett nither little or gay)Seth aka"The Graham Cracker",Jeremy aka"Germy" and I are going to the Ochcos to do a little Mtb S/S R and R camping and ridin'.So this is my first go 'round at web anything and I hope anyone who wants to ride a S/S iin Central Oregon and likes Beer will visit here and take notes for a trip out to good ole Bend,Or.I will go into detail later about my thoghts and take any Q's you or your friends have about ridin' here plus links to some awesome frame builders and gear heads to visit.BUt for now this is all I got to say about that...L8ter G8ter
